Prof. Dalia Bankauskaite

Prof. Bankauskaite focuses on advancing the understanding of the total defense doctrine and a whole-of-society approach to security. She analyses hybrid aggression and influence operations, and works on building comprehensive media and information literacy, societal resilience capacity-building.

Professional experience

Dalia is Associate Professor at the Vilnius University, Lithuania, and Senior Fellow at the Center For European Policy Analysis CEPA. She is an expert in strategic and integrated communication, public diplomacy as means to achieve foreign policy goals and to deal with the public (central and local) and private sectors. Her work is characterised by a good geopolitical understanding of the Baltic sea region and the Eastern Partnership countries with an emphasis on the total defense concept with special focus on the whole of society approach development and societal resilience building. She investigates the impacts of (hostile) Kremlin disinformation narratives and social media in the EU member countries. She teaches media literacy acceleration, including trainings on medial literacy online, digital safety and security, countering disinformation and positive narratives communication.
