Kristina Geva
Israel
Kristina Geva is conducting research on the impact of political orientation on public compliance with emergency preparedness guidelines in Israel for her master's thesis. Her study aims to identify the different political groups in Israel and evaluate how their political stance affects their emergency preparedness and compliance during armed conflicts.
Her research interests include the sociocultural determinants of resilience and wellbeing, such as cultural identity, language, community engagement, and social networks. She aims to explore how these factors affect human behavior and psyche in the context of resilience and wellbeing, and to develop innovative approaches to disaster management that involve alternative players and methods beyond traditional practices. These include embodiment practices, different art forms, music and movement, as well as mindfulness, meditation, and self-compassion practices. Additionally, she aims to research pan-human aspects of resilience and wellbeing that transcend cultural and geographical boundaries.
Professional experience
Kristina Geva is a Research Assistant and Community Manager at Tel Aviv University, where she manages partnerships, creates marketing materials, and designs and operates the ResWell website and social media.
Prior to academia, she gained experience in sustainability analysis at Barry Callebaut Group, where she conducted assessments of African villages' environmental compliance and awareness, and supported the development of agricultural solutions that are in alignment with local environmental conditions.
Education
Since 2021, Kristina Geva holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Emergency and Disaster Management from Tel Aviv University. She also received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science, Biology, and Environmental Studies, which she earned from the University of Zurich in 2019.
