Salome Dumbadze
Research work

Salome Dumbadze's research focuses on resilience predictors. She investigates how individuals develop resilience in the face of adversity and in the context of the VUCA world, exploring the roles of various factors, including social support, coping strategies, and individual characteristics. Additionally, Salome examines the effectiveness of socio-emotional learning programs in promoting resilience and emotional well-being in students, particularly through iconic communication methods. Through her research, she aims to contribute to the understanding of resilience processes and inform the development of interventions to enhance individuals' ability to thrive in challenging circumstances.

 

Professional experience

 

Salome Dumbadze has a diverse professional background spanning several roles in the fields of education, psychology, and social services. At Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA), Salome has held multiple positions, including Invited Lecturer, Chief Analyst, Academic Assistant, and Thesis Supervisor. Additionally, Salome has experience as a researcher at Tbilisi State Medical University's Psychological Set Research and Correction Center. She has served as a positive parenting expert at Prevention for Progress NGO, contributing to a UNICEF-funded project aimed at enhancing the juvenile referral mechanism for children below the minimum age of criminal responsibility. Prior to her academic roles, she has held positions such as Founder/Coach at Ultimate Coaching Solutions (LLC), Child Protection Trainer at World Vision Georgia, and School Psychologist at British Centre Saint Nicholas School. Her earlier roles include serving as a Senior Specialist at various organizations, including the State Fund for Protection and Assistance of Victims of Human Trafficking, and State Care Agency.

 

Education

 

Currently, Salome is enrolled as a doctoral student in the Studies in Positive Psychology program at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU).  Prior to her doctoral studies, Salome obtained a Master's degree in Applied Psychology with a focus on organizational psychology from the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) in  2017.  Salome's academic journey commenced with a Bachelor's degree in Integrated Social and Cognitive Psychology from Jacobs University Bremen (JUB).
